Memori: A Video Game Project
Memori is a two-player cooperative video game where players must communicate verbally to solve a series of puzzles. Memori was created as a Final Project for my BSc in Multimedia at DCU.
Each player is located in their own distinct world. One player, “The Sinner,” is in a horror-themed, nightmarish world, while the other, “The Guide,” finds themself in a dreamlike world, which takes loose inspiration from surrealism. This distinction in theme allows Memori to explore a variety of emotions and a range of difficulty levels. The players play on entirely separate devices. There is no internet connection between them, and they must not look at each other’s screens. Our goal was to design a game for video game lovers that specifically explored communication dynamics in two player puzzle video games.
On May 3rd 2023, at the Multimedia Graduate Exhibition, Memori won a Thesis Communication Award, which was given to projects that best communicated their ideas to the general public.
I was the lead artist for Memori, working as part of a four person team. This team consisted of Dita Zausailova, Leon Dowling and Conor Murphy Elmes. My responsibilites were to plan the visual setting, create 2D assets and textures, and plan lighting effects, as well as to aid in story and puzzle development.
Below are examples of textures and assets I developed, including textures for dirt, gravel and tree bark, as well as skybox development and individual branch and wheel assets. The images showcase these textures and assets on their own as well as what they look like implemented in the final game.

Thank you for learning about Memori! This project is truly one of my proudest achievements to date.
